OTCFood publishes nutrition and food-as-medicine education. Nothing on this site is medical advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment plan.
What we will not claim
We do not say that a food, herb, mushroom, or supplement prevents, treats, or cures disease. When research exists, we describe it as preliminary, mixed, or limited — and we link to primary sources such as NIH Office of Dietary Supplements fact sheets and PubMed-indexed papers when we can.
Supplements are not the same as food
Extracts can interact with medications (for example thyroid hormone, sedatives, or blood thinners). “Natural” does not mean risk-free. If you are pregnant, nursing, managing a condition, or taking prescription drugs, speak with a licensed clinician before using concentrated products.
If you think you are having an emergency, call local emergency services. Do not delay care because of something you read here.
